Why such arbitrary pricing? I don't want to lose money on a valuable record, but just throwing up random numbers waiting for some sucker makes it hard to buy for normal people. (And makes you a dick). As buyers, we're the ones who set the demand and by default the value by what we're willing to pay for something. Be patient. This is the last record I need to complete my Deer Tick collection. If I can hold out anyone can. I've been waiting for this for over a year and check daily for it, it's hard to resist. But I've followed records and noticed a trend and if you're patient someone will list it at a reasonable price. And Im willing to pay a reasonable amount. But I'm not going to be the sucker who pays double the avg. I can wait. I'm a fan of music first. I'm only a collector by proxy. Part of the enjoyment (but not important) is knowing I could relatively sell my records for what I paid for them or they might increase (or decrease) in value. But none of that exists if you pay way too much. As for the quality of this record I can't say. But I have every other pressing foreign and domestic. Colored and not. The sound quality gets better with each album. Mostly because of recording flaws. The quality of all the records themselves are great. You can tell Deer Tick is a band that cares about their fans and not about ripping them off. Fargo (independent French label under license from Partisan) sells a beautiful blue version of this that's available on eBay for about $24.
